Inglemoor senior named 2016 recipient for Princeton Prize in Race Relations

Inglemoor senior Makisa Bronson was named the 2016 Recipient for the Princeton Prize in Race Relations for the Western Washington Region.

Inglemoor senior Makisa Bronson was named the 2016 Recipient for the Princeton Prize in Race Relations for the Western Washington Region. Makisa was recognized for her work in creating the nonprofit Washington Youth Summit for Equality (WYSEQ), recruiting a leadership team consisting of nine other students and managing a conference in social justice for high school students.

The Princeton Prize in Race Relations is awarded in 25 local regions around the country to high school students who through an application process demonstrate leadership in the area of race relations. Each local recipient is awarded $1,000 as well as an all expenses paid trip to attend the Princeton Prize Symposium of Race, April 29-30, on the Princeton University campus.

Sponsored by the Class of 1966, the annual symposium includes conversations and workshops on race relations with local high school students, Princeton students, faculty and staff.
