A 19-year-old is suffering a head injury after he was hit by a truck while riding his bicycle March 18.

The man was crossing 61 Ave. Ne in Kenmore on a marked crosswalk at the intersection of NE 190th. A 29-year-old man was driving a pickup truck with a trailer northbound up the hill on 61 Ave. A vehicle in the left lane stopped and yielded to the man on the bicycle as he crossed. The man driving the truck did not stop and struck the bicyclist.

The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury.

There is no evidence of speed, drugs or alcohol on the truck driver, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
