The Kenmore City Council unanimously approved the 2017-18 biennial budget on Monday night. The total budgeted expenditures for the two-year period are just over $56.7 million.
The only change made since the budget was initially presented on Oct. 24 was to reduce the Public Art Fund expenditures by $50,000, as the council discussed at a November meeting. Public hearings on the budget were held at the Nov. 14 and 28 council meetings.
Before approving the budget, Councilmembers Laurie Sperry and Nigel Herbig expressed their gratitude to city staff, including Finance Director Joanne Gregory and City Manager Rob Karlinsey, for the work they did in preparing it.
