Kenmore Police Department invites community members to register for annual Citizens’ Academy

Each year, Kenmore, Shoreline and Woodinville police departments along with the King County Sheriff's Office present a Citizens' Academy to increase the understanding between citizens and their police department through education. The 10-week course covers a variety of topics, including: defensive tactics, K9, major accident investigations, homicide and major crimes, automatic fingerprint identification system (AFIS), Guardian One helicopter and marine patrol.

Each year, Kenmore, Shoreline and Woodinville police departments along with the King County Sheriff’s Office present a Citizens’ Academy to increase the understanding between citizens and their police department through education. The 10-week course covers a variety of topics, including: defensive tactics, K9, major accident investigations, homicide and major crimes, automatic fingerprint identification system (AFIS), Guardian One helicopter and marine patrol.

The academy is free for Kenmore residents and those who work in the city of Kenmore. The academy begins in March and is scheduled to be held at Kenmore City Hall. The class size is limited and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

This year’s Citizen’s Academy class dates are Wednesdays, March 21 to May 23. Registration and approval of submitted applications are required in advance. Applications are available online at www.kenmorewa.gov or at Kenmore City Hall, 18120 68th Ave. N.E.
