The Kenmore Police Department is hosting an event called Night Out Against Crime Aug. 5.
There will be free food, home and personal safety information and activities. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
The event is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall, located at 18120 68th Ave. NE.
