Kenmore Sheriff’s Blotter: Kidnapping, throttling and more bicycle helmet tickets

A summary of calls received by the King County Sheriff's Office serving Kenmore.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical roundup of all calls to the King County Sheriff’s Office that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The King County Sheriff’s Office blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kenmore.

 

Between Oct. 19 and Oct. 26 calls about three thefts (including identity theft and fraud)  along with four burglaries, one DUI, one count of drunkenness, one kidnapping,  three counts of driving without a valid license, two assaults, two impounds, one warrant served, one case of children left home alone, one call about a half-naked barista and one case of riding a bike without a helmet were received.

 

Oct. 19

A man was given a third ticket for riding without a bicycle helmet. He was also cited for littering after throwing the ticket away at the scene.

 

Oct. 20

One person was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

 

Oct. 20

A back door was kicked in and items taken in the 7200 block of Northeast 153 Place.

After denying a woman more drinks, a man was assaulted and scratched on the face by the woman. She was arrested on fourth-degree assault.

 

Oct. 21

Two misdemeanor warrants were served on the same person at the 6100 Northeast Bothell Way Jack in the Box.

Three vehicles were impounded from different locations.

Under $250 in items was stolen from a vehicle in the parking lot of Morning Star Preschool.

A half-naked barista was reported at a stand in the 7300 block of Northeast Bothell Way.

A man was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

After drinking far too much, a woman was taken to Evergreen Hospital for detox with a blood-alcohol-content of .282.

One abandoned vehicle was reported.

 

Oct. 22

A nine-year-old boy called police after being left alone with a two-year-old sibling. Child Protective Services was contacted.

One man was arrested on intoxicated driving charges for a BAC of .166

 

Oct. 23

Mail was stolen from a mailbox in the 14800 block of 74th Place Northeast.

 

Oct. 24

A ‘suspicious person’ knocked on a door and walked around the house to knock on a window in the 19000 block of Kenlake Place Northeast.

Someone was driving with a suspended license.

 

Oct. 25

Someone attempting to break into a house for sale caused damage to a rear sliding door in the 7500 block of Northeast 192nd Street.

An upstanding citizen throttles and slaps his wife to prevent her and his step grandchild from leaving. He was arrested for fourth-degree assault.

A suspect breaks into a detached garage in the 6400 block of Northeast 181st stealing bike items.

Another upstanding citizen stuffed a victim in a closet and held them there for up to an hour-and-a-half while demanding money from a house sale. The suspect was arrested on kidnapping charges.

 

Oct. 26

A laptop was reported stolen from Inglemoor High School.

Someone stole a spare-change coin jar from a man in the 7400 block of Northeast 155th on Oct. 19. The next day, he went into his garage and saw his chainsaw on the table, where he had not put it. He contacted police on Oct. 26th.

A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 6850 Northeast Bothell Way Safeway parking lot with no suspects.
