The Aug. 19 top-two primary election featured four Bothell residents: Rosemary McAuliffe, Mark Ericks, Margaret Wiggins and Dennis Richter.
• Sen. McAuliffe (D) and Richter (R) are state-senator Legislative District No. 1 candidates.
• Rep. Ericks (D) is the sole Legislative District No. 1 Position 2 candidate.
• Wiggins (no party preference) is running against Rep. Maralyn Chase (D) and Alex Rion (G.O.P.) for the top two Legislative District No. 32 Position 1 spots into November’s general election.
• In other local election news, Rep. Al O’Brien (D) is the sole Legislative District No. 1 Position 1 candidate.
Rep. Ruth Kagi (D) is the sole Legislative District No. 32 Position 2 candidate.
District 1 includes Bothell and District 32 includes Kenmore.
In the top-two primary, voters didn’t have to pick a party and were able to choose among all candidates for each office. In each race, the two candidates with the most votes will advance to the November general election.
