Maehren to receive Kenmore award

Members of the Kenmore Heritage Society will present the McMaster Heritage Award, named after the Scotsman who founded Kenmore in 1901, to David Maehren March 4 at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 N.E. 175th St.

Members of the Kenmore Heritage Society will present the McMaster Heritage Award, named after the Scotsman who founded Kenmore in 1901, to David Maehren March 4 at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 N.E. 175th St.

The event will begin with hors d’oeuvres from 6:30-7:15 p.m., followed by an approximately 45-minute program, including the award presentation.

Maehren is a retired King County Police Officer and a current Northshore Fire commissioner. He led the citizen efforts culminating in the incorporation of Kenmore in 1998.

The recipients of the McMaster award have been persons who have provided leadership or service to Kenmore over a number of years, and have included both men and women from both the public and private sectors.
