Man fires air rifle at squad car, claims ‘witches’ are coming to get him | Bothell Police Blotter

Between Dec. 27, 2016 and Jan. 2, 2017, there were two traffic collisions, three vehicle prowls, no vehicle thefts, four thefts, one incident involving illegal drugs, two incidents of domestic violence, one identity theft, one hit-and-run and four warrants served.

Dec. 27

DUI: 12:56 a.m., 15800 block of Waynita Way NE; A 24-year-old Kenmore woman drove off the road, onto the sidewalk and hit a retaining wall. The woman failed field sobriety tests and provided breath samples of .237 and .236, was arrested for DUI and released into the custody of her father.

Traffic: 8:44 p.m., 22800 block of Bothell-Everett Highway; An 82-year-old man was cited for driving with a suspended license and expired vehicle registration.

Traffic: 9 p.m., 16100 block of Juanita-Woodinville Way NE; A 34-year-old man was stopped on traffic after an officer noticed his vehicle lacked a front license plate. The man did not have insurance, and arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Dec. 29

Drugs: 12:20 a.m., 24000 block of Bothell-Everett Highway; Two subjects, a 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, were contacted inside a vehicle in the Safeway parking lot. The older man was arrested on a Shoreline misdemeanor warrant, and both subjects were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dec. 30

Theft: 3:54 p.m., 21000 block of Bothell-Everett Highway; Two officers noticed a car connected with a previous assault in the parking lot of the Canyon Park Fred Meyer. When the occupant, a 34-year-old Woodinville man, entered the store, the officers called loss prevention notifying them of the man’s description. Loss prevention later notified the officers of the man’s attempts to shoplift gloves, a USB charger, a key chain, seven fly paper boxes and Under Armour shoes from the store. The man was arrested for 3rd-degree theft and 3rd-degree malicious mischief.

Dec. 31

Malicious mischief: 10:09 a.m., 19300 block of 127th Ave. NE; An officer arrived at the home of a 49-year-old man to serve the man with a protection order. The man, as noted in the police report, has a history of being assaultive with officers and neighbors in the past and suffers from mental health related problems. When the officer arrived at the man’s residence, the man fired an air rifle at the squad car, later telling the officer over the phone that “there were witches coming to get him.” The man was not charged with a crime, and protection order papers were left in his mailbox.

Assault: 5 p.m., 2400 block of 238th Place SE; A 37-year-old man was arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault after kicking his 35-year-old wife as she attempted to move the couple’s 4-month-old child into another room. The man was intoxicated when officers arrived, and was taken into custody without incident.

Jan. 1

Assault: 2:52 a.m., 21900 block of 3rd Ave. SE; A 26-year-old Lyle, Wash., man put his 30-year-old sister into a headlock. The sister’s husband pulled the suspect off and told him to leave. The suspect knocked on a door several blocks away, his face dripping with blood after a presumed fall on ice, claiming his brother-in-law was trying to kill him. The suspect was later arrested for 4th-degree domestic violence assault.
