May is M.I.L.K. Money Month. Now in it’s fifth year, the Northshore Schools Foundation’s annual campaign is energized with a new moniker “M.I.L.K.” to Make an Impact on Learning and Kids.
M.I.L.K. raises awareness and supports nearly 200 vulnerable students who don’t have a home to call their own and struggle to keep up in school. Every May, more than 100 local businesses throughout Bothell, Kenmore and Woodinville set out M.I.L.K. bottles at cash registers, on counters or in offices to collect your spare change. Since 2010, M.I.L.K. has raised over $16,000 with your spare change and matching grants (since 2012) from The Windermere Foundation, carrying out their mission to also support low-income and homeless families in our communities. All together M.I.L.K. helps cover costs for school supplies, school pictures, test fees, and sustains services and programs that support health initiatives district-wide.
