Meridian Avenue South project in Bothell on tap through Oct. 1

Due to a street-overlay project begun Sept. 7, Meridian Avenue South in Bothell will be open only to local traffic, school buses and emergency vehicles from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In an announcement, Bothell officials warned drivers to expect delays of up to 15 minutes at a time in order to accommodate truck and equipment loading and unloading.

The work is weather dependent, but the city expects to finish by Oct. 1. The project calls for Meridian to be repaired and overlayed with new asphalt. The work is to be done between the King County border (roughly 205th) and about 500 feet south of the 228th Street Southeast intersection.

To avoid the work area, the city recommends drivers take 228th to State Route 527 to 240th Southeast then get back on Meridian.
