Around 2:05 p.m., Bothell police were called to the restaurant at 24016 Bothell Everett Highway in the Safeway parking lot after the crash.

The driver told police she accidentally accelerated instead of braking, sending her minivan careening through a vacant storefront and swerving to the right before crashing into an interior wall the store shared with Ivar’s.

No injuries were reported and police did not have any damage estimates.

Bothell Police Department Cpt. Mike Johnson said the driver was not impaired and police did not issue any charges.

Today’s accident marks the second time a vehicle has crashed into a storefront this month, after a pickup truck drove into the Bothell Christian Science Reading Room on April 5.

Johnson said instances like these are usually uncommon for Bothell.

“It’s not something we see very often,” he said.
