A 46-year-old Mountlake Terrace man was arrested Friday after robbing a bank in unincorporated Bothell.

Employees at Heritage Bank in the 20600 block of Bothell-Everett Highway called police around noon to report the armed suspect was in the safe, according to a press release issued by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

After robbing the bank, the release said the man fled on a bicycle.

The man was described as “aggressive, threatening and armed with a handgun.”

Witnesses saw a suspicious van parked near by and reported the license.

Deputies spotted the van on 196th Street Southwest in Lynnwood and tried to pull it over. The suspect led police on a short chase before driving to a Fred Meyer parking lot and running into the store, the release said.

Lynnwood police and county deputies entered the store looking for the driver, and found him in the grocery section.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation believes the man may have robbed another bank in Lake Forest Park on March 10.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Correctional Facility on one charge of first degree robbery.
