The Everett Herald said Kamin is a mother of two teenage boys.

A Bothell officer out on patrol located a stolen pickup truck, being driven by Joseph Strange, 33, of Seattle, around 11:20 p.m. and attempted to pull it over in the 22100 block of 17 Ave. S.E. of Bothell. Strange refused to pullover and entered 405 northbound. The chase reached speeds of 95 mph.

The pursuit eventually ended up at Southeast Everett Mall Way and continued northbound on Evergreen Way and Rucker Ave. until it collided with a car in the intersection of Rucker Ave. and Pacific Ave.

“The pickup flipped upside down and slid onto the sidewalk,” said Everett Police Community Information Officer Aaron Snell. “The collision pushed the car northbound on Rucker Ave. and onto its side. The car struck and ruptured a natural gas line before stopping. The female driver [of the car] was trapped inside and extracted by fire and law enforcement officers who physically moved the vehicle.”

Kamin sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical attention.

Strange, described as a long-time car thief, was arrested at the scene and sustained what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Providence Medical Center.

The Everett and Bothell Police Departments are seeking witnesses to the chase.

Police are specifically seeking the driver of a car that was struck at the Lynnwood AM/PM located at 1515 164th Street S.E. at 11:27 p.m.

They are also seeking any other witnesses to the pursuit, which began in Bothell.
