The following is a release from the city of Bothell:

The new Bothell City Hall will open for business at 10 a.m. on Oct. 26 at 18415 101st Ave. NE. The opening is on time and the construction project is anticipated to be under the $46.7 million budget.

The new City Hall will consolidate staff and functions from six buildings into one to improve customer service. It replaces an increasingly costly and physically inadequate City Hall built in 1938, when Bothell’s population was 800. The new building offers services to the public on the first floor, with additional staff housed on three upper floors. The building totals 53,350 feet above grade with 82,000 feet below grade, including a three-level underground parking garage. Dedicated parking stalls will be available for public use during the evening and on weekends.

The public is invited to a grand opening from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 7. Along with a dedication and ribbon-cutting, the public will be able to tour the building during an open house.

Starting Oct. 26, many city phone numbers will change. All are in the 425 area code.

City Hall Reception:                806-6100

Community Development:      806-6400

Permit Services:                      806-6101

Public Works (City Hall):         806-6800

Parks and Recreation:             806-6750

Utility Billing:                          806-6881

Downtown Fire Station:          806-6242

Citizen emergency hotline:     806-6109

The phone numbers for the Public Works Operations Center, Police, and Court will not change with the move; those functions will not move. Although the Downtown Fire Station is getting a new phone number, its physical location is not changing.

As part of the move, the City will need to relocate equipment for Bothell Community Television (BCTV), the City’s government access channel. Service over cable to Comcast and Frontier customers will be disrupted, potentially for several days, sometime between Oct. 21 and Nov. 3. Check the City website for updates. Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings and other selected videos are available on YouTube at youtube.com/user/CityofBothell. The YouTube channel will not be affected by the move.
