The Northshore Schools Foundation, on behalf of Northshore School District, is coordinating the 17th annual community-wide Backpacks for Kids drive July 7 through Aug. 5. The goal of the event is to collect back-to-school supplies and backpacks to benefit Northshore School District students in preschool through grade 12 whose families are unable to send their children to school with necessary school supplies.

“Our goal is to collect enough supplies to provide 1500 students with a filled backpack,” said Executive Director of the Northshore Schools Foundation Carmin Dalziel. “Need is growing in our district, but given the tremendous support of our community, I am confident we will be able to provide backpacks to the students who need them.”

Backpacks for Kids is collecting school supplies including backpacks, three-ring binders, spiral notebooks, children scissors, glue sticks, crayons and more.
