Northshore Emergency Management Coalition seeks community members for volunteer team

The cities of Kenmore and Lake Forest Park, along with the Northshore Fire Department and Northshore Utility District, have formed the Northshore Emergency Management Coalition.

The cities of Kenmore and Lake Forest Park, along with the Northshore Fire Department and Northshore Utility District, have formed the Northshore Emergency Management Coalition. One of the goals of this partnership is to better prepare the community for emergencies.

The coalition is looking to bringing together area volunteers interested in helping to build a more disaster resilient community.

The group will hold its first regular monthly meeting of all emergency volunteers at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Kenmore City Hall.

Included on the agenda is a welcome and background on the organization, emergency volunteer opportunities, volunteer structure, radio amateur presentation, civil emergency service (RACES) presentation, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) presentation and what is next for the organization.
