Northshore holiday activities aplenty

Both Bothell and Kenmore are officially kicking off the holiday season next week with public celebrations in both cities. Bothell plans its annual Winterfest celebration along with what’s being billed as the Vintage Bothell Wine Walk on Main Street (see page 7), both Dec. 4.

Bothell plans its annual Winterfest celebration along with what’s being billed as the Vintage Bothell Wine Walk on Main Street (see page 7), both Dec. 4.

The traditional holiday kick-start, Winterfest begins at 5:30 p.m. with children’s hay rides at the Park at Bothell Landing, 9919 N.E. 180th St., along with visits with Santa in the Lytle House.

The lighting of the holiday tree is at 6:30 p.m. Tractor rides and visits with Santa continue after the tree lighting until 7:30 p.m.

Guests may take their annual family Santa picture at Winterfest, but visitors must bring their own camera. There will not be an on‐site professional photographer.

All Winterfest activities are free unless otherwise noted.

Sponsors include Pacific Medical Centers, Sundance Energy Services, Inc. and the Yakima Fruit Market.

• In Kenmore, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony is from 6-7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 N.E. 175th St. Parking is available at the community club.

Local choirs will entertain visitors while children can have their photos taken with Santa. Holiday arts and crafts will be featured along with games for the youngsters and cookies hot chocolate for all. The lighting of the tree takes place at 6:05 p.m.

The evening is free and open to the public, but visitors are invited to bring canned food items to support the local Hopelink food bank.

• Over at Country Village, 23718 Bothell Everett Highway in Bothell, there will be a tree lighting and Santa’s “fly-in” arrival at 7 p.m. Dec. 5.

There will be complimentary hot roasted chestnuts served at 4 p.m. Train rides all day.

This event is sponsored by Pacific Medical Centers.

From noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 13, the village will hold its Festival of Lights and Cookies with Mrs. Claus.
