Northshore School District kindergarten registration for the 2015-16 school year begins the week of Jan. 20. Specific registration dates, hours and locations vary by school and are available on the district website at www.nsd.org/kindergarten. Children must be five years old on or before Aug. 31, to enter kindergarten in September 2015.

Families are encouraged to register their child(ren) for kindergarten and to urge friends with incoming kindergarteners to register early. Parents should bring proof of residency, their child’s birth certificate or other proof of birthdate, immunization records and names and phone numbers of emergency contacts when registering their child.

Full-day kindergarten lottery dates will be either March 26 or 27, depending on the choice of each elementary school.

Kindergarten orientations will be held March 2 and 3, 7 p.m., at the Northshore Performing Arts Center, 9130 N.E. 180th parents with information about the district, specifics of the kindergarten program, and what is needed to register for school. The orientations are intended for parents only and do not require registration to attend.

To help manage enrollment growth in elementary schools at or near capacity in the north and central areas of the school district, the district will continue to shift some kindergarten classrooms to designated overflow sites. Next year the district will open the Northshore Primary Center, located at Eastlake Community Church, 3301 Monte Villa Parkway No. 200, Bothell, which is in addition to Frank Love and Maywood Hills elementary schools.

• Canyon Creek: All kindergarten classes (half-day, full-day) will be located at the Northshore Primary Center.

• Crystal Springs: All kindergarten classes (half-day, full-day) will be located at Frank Love Elementary School.

• Kokanee: All kindergarten classes (half-day, full-day) will be located at the Northshore Primary Center.

• Shelton View: One full-day kindergarten class will be located at the Northshore Primary Center.

• Westhill: One full-day kindergarten will be located at Maywood Hills Elementary School.

The shifts will help provide consistency for schools and families. Each school will communicate specific details regarding classroom shifts directly with impacted families.
