Northshore School District is breeding neighborhood action through Community Serve Day, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Sunday, Aug. 23.

Hosted at 17 Northshore Schools, the all-volunteer forces will head out to local schools to help them get ready to receive kids. This means cleaning campuses, setting up classrooms and improving the learning environment through painting, repairing and maintaining parts of the schools.

Not only does the efforts of volunteers give students a clean and welcoming learning environment, but it also fosters a sense of pride and ownership in the school by actively seeking student, business and community collaboration.

Currently, online registration is closed with more than 2,000 community volunteers already signed up. However, volunteers can register the day of at any of the schools listed below.
