The Northshore School District will host informational open house events for parents interested in learning more about the Parents Active in Cooperative Education (PACE) program for elementary students at 7 p.m.on Oct. 22.

A choice program offered through the Northshore School District, PACE is a partnership of teachers, parents and students dedicated to an enriched learning environment. PACE officials describe the program as committed to enrich and deepen learning by emphasizing active participation of parents, innovative teaching techniques, enhanced curriculum and additional activities. There are currently three PACE sites serving every elementary school in the district.

Enrollment in PACE is open to all children in grades 1-6 in the Northshore School District on a space-available basis. Placement is by blind lottery.

At each open house, students, parents and staff in the PACE program will provide a brief overview of the program’s philosophy and goals, and be available to answer questions about their own experiences in PACE.
