Northshore Senior Center has new director

Bothell facility names Gary Kingsbury as director

The Northshore Senior Center has named a new director to run the Bothell facility starting April 1.

Gary Kingsbury replaces former director Lee Harper, who left in December.

According to information provided by the center, Kingsbury has an MBA and done post graduate work in strategic planning and management change.

Kingsbury spent the beginning of his career in the for-profit sector, mostly in financial roles. He also helped start a consulting company with a focus on financial management, strategic planning, customer service and project management. He has taught classes on these topics at the University of Phoenix.

In 1996, Kingsbury transitioned to the non-profit sector.

To date, Kingsbury has been involved with various non-profits and church organizations and most recently managed theatre companies, including Seattle’s Taproot Theater.

In addition to his paid work, Kingsbury has volunteered his time serving on the Veterans and Human Services Levy Oversight Board; working with the North Urban Human Services Association; the board of Vision House, which provides transitional housing; and, the city of Shoreline Human Services Task Force.
