In 1991, the Northshore YMCA and the YMCA of Greater Seattle conducted a capital campaign to construct the Northshore YMCA and three other facilities in Seattle. With the success of that drive, ground was broken and construction began on a new YMCA in the fall of 1991. The new 37,000-square-foot facility was completed and dedicated on June 11, 1992. The facility was an instant success with membership topping the 7,000 mark with over 8,000 participants.

Also in 1991, the Knoll Lumber Company donated a house from the Home Show to the YMCA. That house was reconstructed on the new site by many volunteers and union help. It was reconfigured into a child-care center for preschool child care. The building was opened in October of 1992.

The Northshore YMCA facility was expanded in 1995 with an addition of 5,000 square feet to the total facility. Adult fitness and the new Adventure Zone were added at that time. In 1997, the board approved the purchase of the adjacent 1.37 acres for future development of the facility. Parking and sports fields were added in 1998.

The board moved forward with and additional expansion of the facility in 2001 with the addition of a family center on the new property. The new center consisted of 11,200 square feet with a full array of family options including a Youth Center, Kids Corner, Adventure Zone, Family Gym, Kitchen and Massage Room. That center was dedicated in January 2002.
