Every spring, the Northshore YMCA invites all children and families throughout the community to participate in Healthy Kids Day, a free national event to promote health and well-being for kids and families. Activities and games will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 17 for kids, as well as health and wellness resources for families. The first 100 children will receive a free T-shirt.

The event will take place at the Northshore YMCA, 11811 N.E. 195th St., Bothell.

A 5K Family Fun Run will kick off the day at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a free family concert by The Not-Its; a basketball shoot out (each participating child will receive two free tickets to a Mariners game); and photos with “Towmater,” a life-size replica from the movie “Cars,” with proceeds from photos going toward supporting the Northshore YMCA Partners With Youth Campaign. There will be lots of vendors, snacks, local mascots, activities and demonstrations, as well.
