NSD and SEPAC to hold presentation in Bothell for parents of students with special needs

The Northshore Special Education Parent/Professional Council (SEPAC) and the Northshore School District (NSD) Special Services team will provide a special presentation from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the NSD administrative center featuring Dr. Clayton Cook, PhD, WA State Licensed psychologist, UW assistant professor, and partner to the Northshore School District in developing the district’s initiative to focus on positive interactions with students.

The Northshore Special Education Parent/Professional Council (SEPAC) and the Northshore School District (NSD) Special Services team will provide a special presentation from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the NSD administrative center featuring Dr. Clayton Cook, PhD, WA State Licensed psychologist, UW assistant professor, and partner to the Northshore School District in developing the district’s initiative to focus on positive interactions with students.

The presentation is specifically designed for parents of students with special needs, Cook will share information about how student behavior affects learning and will provide proven tips and best practices for working with students in the school and/or home setting.

Cook collaborates with school districts across the U.S. and is recognized as a leader in the field of positive behavior interventions and supports.  He currently works with 11 district schools as they implement a Multiple-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) aimed at reducing behavioral challenges interfering with academic performance and promoting skills, strengths, and positive environments that enhance academic engagement and success.
