Northshore School District is having a elementary science education parent night May 7.

The event will feature NSD’s partnership with the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB). ISB’s Director of Education Dana Riley Black will engage parents in thinking about reasons for the contemporary focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics); introduce parents to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS); and overview the district’s partnership with ISB towards implementing NGSS. The ISB presentation will be followed by a question and answer session with Dana Riley Black and Nancy Young, Northshore School District director of elementary curriculum, instruction & assessment.

The event is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the administrative center board room.
