From the Everett Herald staff:

Two people were injured in a two-car crash that occurred Friday night near the intersection of Highway 524 and N Damson Road.

A black 2010 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 21-year-old Edmonds woman was heading westbound on Highway 542 about 9:50 p.m.

She attempted to turn left on N Damson Road, but failed to yield right-of-way to an oncoming gold 2004 Acura MDX.

The two vehicles collided. A 22-year-old Lynnwood woman who was a passenger in the Elantra was injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she remained in serious condition Saturday.

The driver of the Elantra was also injured, but not seriously enough to warrant transport to a hospital. She was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault. The Washington State Patrol also indicated alcohol could be a factor in the crash.

There were two people in the Acura, neither of whom was injured.
