Snohomish County’s Planning and Development Services department will be closed Thursday, July 31 following the death of an employee on the main county campus in downtown Everett Wednesday morning.

The employee, a 42-year-old man who worked for Snohomish County for three years, collapsed at his desk shortly after arriving at work Wednesday morning. Coworkers certified in CPR tried to revive him. Paramedics also performed CPR for an extended period of time, but were unable to save him. The man was pronounced dead at his office.

The PDS office is scheduled to reopen Friday, Aug. 1.
