Disturbance

Police said they responded to a call for medical help at an address in the 7500 block of Northeast 155th Street.

According to reports, the resident Native Americans had constructed a dome shaped tent called an “inipe” and set it up as a type of sauna, complete with heated rocks, in which to pray. One participant reportedly stayed in the tent too long and began hallucinating, eventually becoming violent with others in the tent and outside.

According to police, the man bit at least one of his friends violently and claimed rescue workers were sent by the devil. He eventually was subdued and taken along with one other person for treatment at Evergreen Medical Center. No was arrested and those at the scene told police no drugs or alcohol were involved.
