Aug. 18

Theft from vehicle

The thief or thieves broke out a window in a car parked in the 900 block of 228th Street Southeast. The car was left minus a briefcase containing various documents, records, cash and credit cards valued at $2,000. Police reports said it was not known if the car was parked on or off the street. The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m.

Aug. 17

Residential burglary

A TV, iPod, laptop computer and miscellaneous jewelry was missing from a burglarized home in the 2000 block of Fourth Avenue Southeast.

Police gave the total value of the missing items as $13,500. The perpetrators apparently kicked in the home’s front door to gain entry. Officials did not report any suspects.

Aug. 16

Car theft

A 1993 white Jeep Cherokee is missing from an unidentified apartment complex. Valued at approximately $2,275, the vehicle had not been recovered as of last week.

Aug. 15

Assault

According to police, the city prosecutor is reviewing charges against a man, 49, who allegedly got into a physical altercation with his brother, 48, reportedly over financial issues. Police did not release the location of the reported incident, only saying it took place on a city street. They also did not report any injuries.

Aug. 14

Theft from vehicle

Sometime between 2-8 a.m., a GPS unit valued at $250 was stolen from a car parked in a lot in the 900 block of 228th Street Southeast. Police said the perpetrator broke out a window to gain access to the car.

Aug. 13

Residential burglary

Cash totaling $200 is missing after someone kicked in the front door of a home in the 20000 block of Ninth Avenue Southeast. Police did not report having any suspects.

Aug. 12

Assault

A man, 36, was arrested for second-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment following an altercation with his girlfriend, 47. Police didn’t release a lot of details, but said the victim was choked. Reports did not contain the location of the residence where the incident took place.

KENMORE

Aug. 17

Possession of narcotics

A man stopped for an alleged traffic violation ended up under arrest for what police said was possession of 13 grams of heroin. The arrest took place on Northeast 171st Street near 68th Avenue Northeast.

Residential burglary

Someone broke out the window of a detached residential garage in the 19000 block of 65th Avenue Northeast. They made off with a Coleman generator, the value of which wasn’t readily apparent from police reports.

Larceny

Police responded to the reported theft of $100,000 in cash from a resident in the 16900 block of Inglewood Road. The victim, a man, 61, told police he believed his female roommate, 32, left the home with the money, as well as his car. He told police the money — consisting of all $100 bills wrapped in a rubber band — was kept in a certain spot in his home. He claimed he spotted his roommate near where the money was kept, at which point she allegedly left the home with the cash and the victim’s car. Police later stopped the suspect and another woman in the car. They did not report finding any money and stated only that the two in the car were arrested on unrelated charges.

Assault

What police called a case of bike-rider road rage allegedly led to a man being punched in the face while driving eastbound on State Route 522. The victim said he made a right-hand turn off the street when he was confronted by an angry bike rider. Besides yelling at the driver, the rider allegedly punched the victim through his open car window, then disappeared.
