Having presented more than 100 shows since its inaugural event in 2006, the Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation (NPACF) is stepping up to the challenges of continuing its appreciation for the arts in even more tumultuous economic times. Kicking off fund-raising for the 2010-2011 season, NPACF will host its second annual “Spring for the Arts” luncheon at 11:30 a.m. March 19 at the Hollywood Schoolhouse, 14810 N.E. 145th St., Woodinville. The buffet lunch, including wine and other beverages, costs $25.

Vocalists Ksenia Popova and Ryan Wuflestad will open the brief program at 11:55 a.m. with an encore performance of their “Phantom of the Opera” duet from last October at the Northshore Performing Arts Center. They were chosen among 60 young artists from around the state to sing with Broadway star Franc D’Ambrosio at his concert. Exemplifying NPACF’s focus on arts for youth, D’Ambrosio shared many professional audition and stage techniques during his master class.

Dr. William Christopher, Cascadia Community College president, will address “Why Theatre, Education, Youth and the Arts Make a Community.”
