High school teachers who participated in the pilot textbook project will be present to answer questions.

The Contemporary Issues/Civics course fulfills a high school graduation requirement. The course covers such topics as federal, state and local government organization; policy and procedures; the rights and responsibilities of citizens; the electoral process at the local, state and national levels; and current issues at each level of government. These proposed new instructional materials replace the district’s current materials for this course in Fall 2013.
