The following is a press release from Recology CleanScapes.
On July 29, Recology CleanScapes held their Grand Opening event for their new recycling focused retail store and customer service center in Bothell.
This unique retail concept provides opportunities for face-to-face customer service, the ability to drop-off hard to recycle items and offers creative products and gifts designed to reduce waste while encouraging recycling.
“It is exciting to have such a wonderful resource in the City and we look forward to upcoming events at the store,” said Sabrina Combs, City of Bothell’s Recycling and Public Services Projects Administrator. “Citizens now have a one stop resource for dropping off items, learning about reuse, receiving customer service support and more.”
Recology CleanScapes customers in Bothell will now be able to use the store as a resource for community events to learn about environmental stewardship. The company’s first store in Issaquah’s Gilman Village has hosted numerous community organizations from scout troops to environmentally-minded organizations.
“This retail store helps us to achieve Recology’s vision of a world without waste,” said Recology CleanScapes’ General Manager Dan Bridges. “By offering our customers more opportunities to recycle and reduce their environmental impact, we are making a sustainable difference in Bothell.”
The products the store sells are designed to be durable, reusable and be kept out of landfills. Many products have been “up-cycled”, which turns something of lesser value into a higher use.
Additionally, customers can use the location as a resource to drop-off hard to dispose of items like electronics, Styrofoam or bicycles. Recology CleanScapes works with local non-profits to recycle, re-purpose or up-cycle these items.
Recology CleanScapes began recycling, garbage and organics collection service for most of the City of Bothell on January 1, 2015. CleanScapes is a subsidiary of Recology, an employee-owned company that sees a world without waste, where resources are used and re-used in a sustainable ecosystem that strives for their best and highest use.
The Recology Store in Bothell is located at 22833 Bothell-Everett Highway #111 (between the QFC and Bartell Drugs in the Canyon Park Place Shopping Center). The store is open from 10am to 6pm Monday through Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
