Rep. Inslee to keynote First District Earth Day event Saturday discussing climate change and the environment

Rep. Jay Inslee will be the keynote speaker Saturday at the “Climate Challenge: New Frontiers” event hosted by the First District Democrats in honor of Earth Day 2010. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Northshore Health and Wellness Center, 10212 E. Riverside Drive, Bothell.

Rep. Inslee will talk about how Congress is addressing the issue of climate change, including a legislative update on the energy bill and how the federal government will help cities become carbon neutral. Joining Rep. Inslee will be Washington state Rep. Hans Dunshee, 44th District; Jacquelyn Styrna, the Carbon Masters Outreach coordinator of Washington State University Extension; Mark Hallenbeck from the University of Washington; Dr. Viki Sonntag from Sustainable Seattle; and David Ward from the Snohomish County Surface Water Management Division.
