Riverfest focuses on ‘Family Fun and Then Some’

The city of Bothell will present its ninth annual RiverFest: “Family Fun and Then Some” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 30 downtown between Main and Northeast 185th streets. The event is free.

Scheduled activities at various times and locations (subject to change) include:

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• City of Bothell show and tell, a city and local resource fair (City Hall, 18305 101st Ave. N.E.)

• Radio Disney AM 1250 onsite entertainment (101st Avenue Northeast)

• Car show sponsored by Brooks Biddle Chevrolet in Bothell (Main Street)

• Installation of city centennial time capsule (Police Department Building, 18410 101st Ave. N.E.)

• Hobby and volunteer expo featuring local nonprofit organizations and clubs (101st Avenue Northeast)

12:30 p.m.

Pie-eating contest (101st Avenue Northeast and Northeast 183rd Street)

1 p.m.

The Afrodisiacs and Spazmatics in concert (101st Avenue Northeast)

Road closures include:

• Main Street from state routes 522/527 to 102nd Avenue Northeast: closes at 7 a.m./reopens at 4 p.m.

• 101st Avenue Northeast from Main Street to Northeast 185th Street: closes at 7 a.m./reopens at 4 p.m.

• Northeast 183rd Street from SR 527 to 101st Avenue Northeast: closes at 7a.m./reopens at 5 p.m.

• Northeast 183rd Street from 102nd Avenue Northeast to 101st Avenue Northeast: closes at 7 a.m./reopens at 4 p.m.

Due to lack of resources, there will not be a “Summits of Bothell/S.O.B.” bicycle ride this year during RiverFest.

The Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce is looking for food vendors, crafters and local merchants to participate in its craft and merchants market, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $60 per 10-foot-by-10-foot booth space ($50 for chamber members).
