The Sabra Dipping Company, creators of the popular Sabra Hummus, has issued a voluntary recall of certain Hummus containers due to possible contamination with Listeria Monocytognes.

The recall effects all classic hummus containers and combo packages, including the following SKU’s.

No other Sabra products are affected by the recall.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious, and sometimes fatal, infections in young children, elderly, those with compromised immune systems, and can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

Healthy individuals may suffer from high fever, headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and/or diarrhea.

The FDA has not reported any illnesses from the Sabra recall.

The contamination was discovered during a routine and random inspection of a Michigan retail location in March and the sample tested positive for listeria.
