Seattle gunman Ian Stawicki purchased a .45-caliber handgun at DJ’s Loan and Sport in Bothell in August of 2008, according to a Seattle City Attorney’s Office report.

The 40-year-old shot and killed four people on Wednesday morning in Seattle at Cafe Racer on Roosevelt Avenue and one on First Hill before killing himself later in the day in West Seattle.

Stawicki purchased another .45 in May of 2006 from Adventure Sports in Lynnwood. In total, he owned six handguns — both of the .45-caliber and 9-mm variety — which he bought from 1993-2006.

One of the DJ’s owners, Bruce Jordan, said he isn’t aware of any of the guns they sell to be used in a crime. The family business has been open since 1981 and sells firearms, ammunition and accessories, jewelry, tools and more.

In a news conference, Seattle Police Department Assistant Chief Jim Pugel said that two .45s were used in the shootings, but they were still looking into where the guns were purchased.
