Seven Bothell residents awarded Cascadia Foundation scholarships

The Cascadia Community College Foundation has selected 16 Cascadia students as recipients of scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The Cascadia Community College Foundation has selected 16 Cascadia students as recipients of scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Among the recipients, seven are Bothell residents. Students were chosen by foundation board members following a review of written applications and in-person interviews.

All scholarships are administered by the foundation and are made possible by the generous donations of individuals, businesses and corporations from across the region.

• Alyssa London of Inglemoor High recently received an Overlake Alumnae Panhellenic scholarship.

Overlake Alumnae Panhellenic has awarded more than $36,000 in scholarships to Eastside high-school senior girls through the years. Funds for these awards are raised through an annual scholarship luncheon held on the Eastside in December.

• Brianne Ryan of Inglemoor High won the staff choice award for “Summer in Central Park” at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction’s 35th annual High School Art Show. She received a $200 cash prize.
