Skyview Junior High students are raising money for leukemia and lymphoma patients

Skyview Junior High students are halfway to their goal of raising money for leukemia and lymphoma patients.
Through their “Pennies for Patients” program, about 15 associated student body (ASB) youths at the Bothell school have collected $1,500 so far and their coin boxes will remain in classrooms through Friday, according to ASB treasurer Hailey Hunt, a ninth-grader.
“It means a lot. I know a few people who have had leukemia and lived through it,” said Hunt, noting that both students and teachers have been giving their loose change to the project. “We all wanted to do something to help in the community.”
