Sonja Hoeft named Northshore Primary Center principal

Sonja Hoeft, Canyon Creek Elementary’s assistant principal, has been named principal of the new Northshore Primary Center.

Sonja Hoeft, Canyon Creek Elementary’s assistant principal, has been named principal of the new Northshore Primary Center.

Hoeft served as principal of Maltby Elementary School in Monroe School District before joining Northshore this past fall and has a background in elementary education, special education, Montessori and early childhood education.

“I am excited about taking my passion for students and their success and applying it to the Northshore Primary Center,” said Hoeft. “Growing a campus that is centered on a child’s first experience with public schools holds so many prospects and responsibilities. I look forward to collaborating with parents, students and teachers to plant seeds our littlest learners have an amazing student-centered first experience.”

Hoeft graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Masters in School Administration. She worked as a Special Education and reading teacher, taught second and fourth grades and worked as an assistant principal in the Lake Washington School District and an elementary school principal in the Monroe School District.
