The city of Kenmore has proclaimed Sept. 19 as “Mayor’s Day of Concern for the Hungry.”
No parent should have to send a child to school hungry, no baby should be without the comfort of the feedings needed for mental and physical growth and no elderly person’s health should be jeopardized by lack of appropriate food.
To help with hunger issues in the community, the Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle and King County is coordinating an annual food drive to help support the efforts of their program and the area’s food banks in fighting hunger. The food drive will be held at grocery stores throughout King County on Saturday.
We encourage everyone to join the Emergency Feeding Program in donating food to local food banks and grocery stores.
