Surface Water Management Plan open house on tap Sept. 30

Bothell citizens are invited to attend an open house from 5-9 p.m. Sept. 30 in the city of Bothell Police Community Room (18410 101st Ave. N.E.) to review and provide input on the city’s Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP). The SWMP and public review of this document are requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Eliminations System permit, which allows discharge of stormwater runoff from municipal drainage systems into the state’s water bodies (i.e., streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands, etc.) as long as municipalities implement programs to protect water quality by reducing the discharge of pollutants. The SWMP outlines the city of Bothell’s program to reduce pollutants in stormwater runoff and is updated annually.
