There was one count of identity theft where a person gave out their identifying information over the phone, one count of violation of the Controlled Substances Act, four traffic collisions, four vehicle prowls (mostly near the Holly Hills area), six domestic violences where no crime was committed and six thefts with values ranging from $50 to $2,200.

July 14

A victim of a residential burglary, which occurred near Northeast 198th Court, reported an unknown assailant entering their home between 10 p.m. on the July 13 and 2:45 p.m. on July 14. The unknown person stole a small safe from the bedroom, the safe and its contents are unknown.

A male reported being scammed out of $500 by another male, who had offered to repair the victims car. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s. The incident occurred along 15th Avenue Southeast.

July 15

An officer observed standing traffic along SR 527, even though a light had turned green and had been green for some time. Upon investigation, it was found that there was a minor accident, the damage non-reportable. However, the officer noticed that one male had a hard time following the conversation concerning the accident. The officer performed a field sobriety test and the male failed. Charges are pending toxicology reports from a blood sample obtained by search warrant.

A collision between two vehicle, a Suzuki and a Honda, occurred along SR 527. The driver of the Suzuki claimed that she did not hit the Honda and left the scene. After officers contacted the driver of the Honda, they were able to obtain the information of the Suzuki owner.

A person reported seeing a male holding a female against her wishes near Campus Parkway Northeast. An officer contacted the parties, both of whom are international students and are in a relationship. Neither showed signs of physical assault. They were both advised of Washington’s domestic violence laws and a verbal warning was given to the male.

July 16

Officers responded to a tractor trailer that had struck a sign and fled the scene, which at the intersection of Northeast 183rd Street and 104th Street Northeast. The value of the sign is unknown but it was replaced. There are no suspects.

Bothell’s court room got some entertainment when a male, who had been attending his court hearing while in the custody of authorities, decided to flee the courtroom. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was found in the bushes nearby. He was re-arrested and charged with escape in the third degree.

A Honda was reported stolen between 5 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. from the park and ride along Juanita-Woodinville Way Northeast. An air compressor and a GS were stolen from the vehicle, which was recovered on July 23 by Bothell Police.

July 17

Patrol officers responded to a possible DUI along Monte Villa Parkway. The reporting person indicated he was nearly struck by a vehicle driven by a male who was driving erratically near a construction zone. The vehicle was located and when officers initiated contact they found the male was haphazardly dressed, sitting down on the curb and struggling to keep balanced. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Charges are pending the results of the toxicological tests on blood samples gained by a search warrant.

Officers responded to the scene of the accident where a suspected DUI driver had struck two parked and unoccupied vehicles, then tried to flee the scene. Upon contact, officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol from the driver, who also had bloodshot eyes and a flushed face. The driver failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI and a hit and run.

July 18

A female got upset with her roommate for smoking in the bathroom while her young baby was around. The verbal argument ensued between the two females until one challenged the other to a fist fight, though that didn’t happen, one female did lock the other out of the apartment. One of the females made harassing comments about the other and was arrested for harassment domestic violence. The incident happened near 100th Avenue Northeast.

A male in his 20s was arrested for shoplifting $11 in alcohol from a store in the 1900 block of SR 527 Northeast. He was cited and released at the scene.

Police responded to reports of a male hitting a female near the 17th Avenue Southeast. Witnesses reported seeing both parties yelling at each other and the male standing over the female while attempting to take the female’s cell phone away. Upon contact, officers noticed the female had dirty knees and one scratch mark on each leg, though the scratches were not bleeding. The male was arrested for domestic violence assault in the fourth degree.

July 19

An officer on patrol noticed a male near the 1200 block of NE 160th St. wearing a dark hoodie on a “extremely hot day” and, upon initiated contact, was given an incorrect name by the male. When the true identity of the male was learned, he was arrested on warrants and charged with making false statements to police.

A sexual offense was reported along Meridian Avenue South. It is currently under active investigation.
