Three more Science Olympiad teams headed to state competition

Canyon Park Junior High School's blue team placed first and Kenmore Junior High School’s team finished second in the B division, grades 6-9; and Bothell High School's blue team placed first in the C division, grades 9-12, at the Washington Northwest Region Science Olympiad competition held March 16 at Highline Community College.

Canyon Park Junior High School’s blue team placed first and Kenmore Junior High School’s team finished second in the B division, grades 6-9; and Bothell High School’s blue team placed first in the C division, grades 9-12, at the Washington Northwest Region Science Olympiad competition held March 16 at Highline Community College.

These three teams will join teams from Northshore Junior High School and Inglemoor High School in advancing to the state competition to be held April 13 at Clark College in Vancouver, Wash.

Canyon Park competed against 10 schools in 24 events placing first in 13 events, second in five events, third in two events and fourth in two events. In the same division, Kenmore placed first in three events, second in six events, third in three events and fourth in six events.

Bothell’s team competed against 17 schools in 23 events and placed first in 10 events, second in four events, third in two events and fourth in three events.

Canyon Park’s gold team placed fourth in the B division but will not advance to the state competition.
