Citizens of Bothell are invited to learn more about the city by taking a walk around town while learning about the area from plaques along the Town-Gown Loop.

The 2.5 mile stroll winds its way down Beardslee and Main Street from the UW Campus, around 96th Avenue NE and back up to campus via Northeast 183rd Street and Northeast 185th Street.

Along the route, walkers can learn about the local area. Plaque No. 1 teaches Loopers about how, in the late 1890’s, Gerhard Ericksen built a log flume which extended seven miles up the North Creek Valley and that youth returning from fishing trips up valley would return home by riding the felled logs down the flume.

Connecting the campus to Main Street, the Library and the Waterfront, the loop is an educational and entertainment partnership between Cascadia College, the University of Washington Bothell campus and the City of Bothell.
