Today, city of Kenmore Public Works crews have responded to a tree that fell on power lines over Juanita Drive just north of Northeast 143rd Street. Detour routes are in place to guide drivers around the downed tree. Puget Sound Energy is on site to restore power to 1,500 residents along Juanita Drive. According to Puget Sound Energy, power to approximately 1,200 homes was to be restored by 11 a.m. and the remaining 300 homes will be restored throughout today. Work is expected to last for most of the day. An update on the expected reopening of Juanita Drive between Northeast 143rd Street to Northeast 153rd Place will be provided as soon as that information becomes available.

In addition, shortly after 10 a.m. power was restored to street signals and businesses about a six-square-block area around 68th Avenue Northeast and State Route 522. The power outage was caused by a transformer problem.
