Tree falls on car in Bothell with two inside

Two people escaped with minor injuries after a tree fell on their car in Bothell late Sunday morning.

The Audi was traveling on 164th Place, near the Bothell Cedar Park Christian campus, when a large tree fell on the vehicle with two passengers inside. Bothell Fire was able to get the two people out get them to EvergreenHealth hospital just minutes away in Kirkland.

Both passengers are expected to be released as they suffered minor injuries, according to the Bothell Police Department.

Puget Sound Energy was also called in as the tree also took out power cables as it fell.

The street was reopened around 4 p.m. after crews removed the tree.
