On Friday, July 24, the quick actions of two Bothell Parks staff saved 40 gallons of diesel fuel from running into a storm drain  and heading into the Puget Sound.

“Glen Artim and Adam Fletcher, of the parks crew, saved the day last Friday with a quick response to a fuel leak from a truck,” said John Keates, the director of the Parks and Recreation Department at Bothell. “I am told, if fuel would have gotten in [the] creek that cleanup would have been expensive.”

The spill came from a semi-truck along North Creek Parkway S. in Bothell.

Glen Artim and Adam Fletcher noticed the spill, and flagged cars and pedestrians around the spill until police and public works officials arrived to take over the scene.
