The University of Washington Bothell will celebrate 25 years with its first alumni weekend and campus celebration starting at 8 a.m. on May 9.

The event will feature the 10th Annual 5K Walk/Run, music, tours, food, interactive family and children’s activities as well as networking opportunities.

UW Bothell alumni, students, faculty staff and community are invited to attend and meet Congresswoman Susan DelBene and Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe.

In an effort to expand access to education, the University of Washington Bothell was created by a group of 13 educators who were selected to create the university from scratch. They did just that, holding classes in an office park.

Today, UW Bothell has nearly 5,000 students, almost 15,000 alumni and is the fastest-growing public university in the state of Washington, with 66 percent enrollment growth since 2010. The administration has kept its commitment to keeping class sizes small and students first. UW Bothell has become a destination of choice for students of great promise from across the state of Washington.
