Greg Tuke, a lecturer in UW Bothell’s First Year and Pre-Major program, has been awarded a 2015-16 Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant to India. Beginning September 2015, he will spend nine months working with the Central University of Tibetan Studies in Varanasi, teaching and conducting faculty trainings on using online tools to embed international collaboration projects into local courses.

Tuke teaches social media and social change courses at UW Bothell. He has been instrumental in launching UW Bothell’s efforts to institutionally support Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) courses across the curriculum. With support from a Mellon Foundation grant through UW’s Jackson School of International Studies, Tuke serves as the International Collaborations Facilitator with Global Initiatives and oversees the COIL Fellows program. He is also the faculty leader for the Global Living Learning Community in student housing, and has conducted digital storytelling workshops for visiting groups of students from South Africa, Japan and Mexico.

The Fulbright Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries, and it is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government.
